This is a great informational book about the lives of ants, including a life cycle, a diagram of the different chambers of an ant hill, and a picture labeling the different parts of an ant (head, thorax, abdomen). There are even pictures of a few different kinds of ants /5.

They are narrated by a wood ant and a fantail goldfish, respectively, each of which briefly describes its habitats and general physical and behavioral characteristics. The ant book also describes how to start a simple ant farm in a glass jar; the fish book lists the basic equipment necessary for setting up an aquarium.
